Images to music are always moving. I hope you enjoy this short slideshow highlighting Mallory and David’s day.
month: February 2010
Mallory and David traveled from El Paso to exchange their vows at The Mother House Chapel of Incarnate Word. It was truly and beautiful event. David has connections here. In fact, his grandfather, Dr. Berchelmann, delivered my daughter-a small world isn’t it. The church was beautiful and again thanks to Betty Parish and the Wedding Planners for coordinating things to perfection. After the ceremony everyone celebrated with dinner and dancing at the Westin Riverwalk. As always Eva and her staff meticulously crafted a flawless reception. The seated dinner was elegant and afterwards The Memphis Train Revue from Austin rocked the house throughout the night. For more than 20 years our brides and grooms have been seeing each other privately before the wedding begins. We have found this to be an extremely romantic way to begin their day. They have an opportunity to quietly visit with each other, to pray together, to tell each other what this day means to them or maybe to just hold one another. Couples have told me that after their meeting there is a sense of calm about them. If time is not made for them before the wedding they never seem to have a moment alone the rest of the evening. Once their private time has ended we begin all of the formal type of images and now are able to complete them before the guests arrive. So once the wedding processional begins, we as photographers, become just observers of the day and can quietly capture the event very unobtrusively. Couples can now enjoy their families, friends and loved ones without the intrusion of a photographer. Mallory and David chose to take advantage of this “private moment”. Here are a few of the images from that time.
Receptions are always joyful times for couples and Mallory and David’s reception was no exception. I think everyone enjoyed themselves. I hope you enjoy them too.
Mallory is from El Paso and marrying a San Antonio boy, David Berchelman. They have been a great couple to work with. Mallory could not make it here early for her bridal portrait so we did it the week of her wedding at Mission San Jose. It was a blast working with her. She was very relaxed and just let things happen. We got some beautiful portraits along with some stunning animated images. I tried a new painterly technique on a couple of the images. I have been trying to perfect this for a while. Comments, good or bad, are welcomed. Enjoy the images.
This next collection is a group of fun animated images of Mallory as the session ended. Too cute!!
The Argyle was the setting for Anne’s bridal portrait. It was a cold day in January, but Anne withstood the elements and looked stunning, don’t you think? These are a few of my favorites.
We had a great time last weekend with Anne and Eric. They are a truly special couple. I photographed Anne’s sister’s wedding years ago so I was thrilled Anne asked me to photograph hers. It is especially nice to work with the same family again. Nanc Haney at the church is always a joy. She along with Betty Parish of the Wedding Planners always make sure the day runs smoothly. After the wedding we took the short drive to the San Antonio Country Club to be awaited by Wesley and his staff. One can always count on Wesley. The club as always was spectacular and the service and food is first class. After dinner, the dancing was enhanced by none other than the Ric Cavendar Band.

Nancy and I spent an entire week in the mountains of Colorado with three of the greatest children on earth. We anchored in Denver and then traveled about the area. We visited the Air Force Academy-scaled Pike’s Peak in a cog railway, learned to snowboard at Winterpark, and hit a Denver Nuggets game. We came home exhausted, but fulfilled. I hope the kids had a great time as well.
